Veeam @VMworld 2020 Virtual Edition!
VMworld 2020 is now only a couple of days away, and this year we will all be experiencing the conference remotely. Without question this will be a different VMworld, but as VMware has adjusted to the challenges of running events during COVID times, so has Veeam. Data management and data analytics are hot topic items and with the clear trend towards a hybrid-cloud/multi-cloud world the presence of Veeam as a leader in the industry is reflected in our 2020 VMworld Virtual Experience. As I mentioned last year, VMware still have a lot to say about where and how data is generated, processed and stored… and Veeam is right there to help protect and manage it.
The ecosystem that VMware has built over the past ten to fifteen years is significant and has only been strengthened by the extension of their technologies to the public cloud.
Veeam continues to build out own own strong ecosystem backed by a software first, hardware agnostic platform which results in the greatest flexibility in the backup and recovery market. We continue to support VMware as our number 1 technology partner and we look to build on that with support for all VMware Cloud and enhanced VMware feature and enhancements built into our core Backup & Replication product as we look to the release of v11.
Veeam Sessions @VMworld:
This year we have two main sessions, with Rick Vanover taking the Ransomware message Live across three times and my session with Andy Sturniolo can be taken on demand.
- Winning the War on Ransomware with Veeam
The war on ransomware continues and you need the right tools to keep your data safe. In this breakout from Veeam, learn about the incredible options at your disposal when using VMware technologies. Whether it is moving data securely for a backup or restore task, leveraging the cloud for immutable storage or recovering into an on‑demand cloud environment; Veeam and VMware technologies offer you the most options to prepare, prevent and remediate threats to your data
- Sneak Peek to what’s new in Veeam Backup & Replication
Veeam Backup & Replication v10 introduced many new capabilities but there is always more innovation on the horizon for VMware vSphere users. We will be showing off new core features and enhancements in v11 with a number of demos around new Cloud Director Capabilities, vSAN and vSphere Tags, as well as deep diving into how v11 Object Storage enhancements extend the use case for On Demand Recovery and Migration to VMware Cloud SDDCs.
Last Thursday, Michael Cade, Melissa Palmer and myself talked about this years event at length and laid out all of Veeam’s happenings over the course.
We have a virtual booth this year which will be open from the 2nd to the 9th of October and can be accessed here. The booth will have Veeam t-shirt giveaways, partner areas, product demos and other online resources. There is a thought leadership webinar happening as well as a Veeam Virtual User Group webinar as well. It wouldn’t be a VMworld without a Veeam party and we have been able to secure DJ Diesel (A.K.A Shaq, A.K.A Shaquille O’Neal). Shaq will be holding a live 15 minute Q&A and will then feature one of his DJ Set’s for 45 Minutes. Registration is 100% free and can be done here.
For all the specific Veeam VMworld 2020 Virtual Experience info, head to this site and I hope that this years VMworld is as fruitful as possible… given all the circumstances. It will be interesting to see VMworld translated to a 100% virtual event… as I mentioned in the video above, I think if anything, this will open up the event for people that who otherwise would have no opportunity to attend the event in person. If that is you… make sure you visit Veeam and check out the sessions!
